As we are currently doing some home learning, here's some awesome WAI CHALLENGES to keep you busy!

Home challenge: Water Treasure Hunt at home. Craft challenge: Make a poster showing all your learning. Word challenge: Make a water word find. Word challenge: A- Z of sea / water animals. Outside challenge: Collect some rain water. Outside challenge: Find some puddles to jump in! Outside challenge: Find your water meter. Craft challenge: make a 4 minute timer. Craft challenge: Make a water bracelet. Craft challenge: Make a water board game.

Water Use

Water! This has been our lesson focus for the last 10 weeks in our Enviro WAI unit.

We have learnt: 

* Water is EVERYWHERE - in our homes, schools, and all around us in nature (especially in Auckland!)

 

* Water is ESSENTIAL for life.

* Water has many uses; keeping us clean and healthy, for religious and cultural ceremonies and its HEAPS of fun to play in, on or by! 

* Water is often polluted. 

* Water is in short supply, we have a water shortage in Auckland and around the water there is not enough fresh water for everyone.

Here's some pictures of us measuring out the amount of fresh water in the world; 1 DROP out of 1000ml!  

Enviro Art 2

Our Enviro Art group were really happy this week to receive a generous donation from Bunnings this week and make a start on our Enviro signs for the school garden. We used the money to buy primer, paint and brushes that the students had seen on the Bunnings website.
